Transform the ordinary into art! Let our creative landscape designers combine
the flexibility of textured concrete or the simplistic beauty of natural
stone to transform any area of your outdoor environment.
A
wide variety of paving material is available to uniquely beautify any patio,
pool deck, walkway, courtyard, or driveway. The type of material used may
depend largely on where the hardscaping is being built in terms of geographical
location, how often and what kind of traffic it will bear, as well as how
much care and upkeep you wish to devote to its maintenance. Different materials
possess different assets, limitations and cost.
Stone
is perhaps the most natural-appearing paving material. Its irregular shapes
and sizes fit together like a jigsaw puzzle to form your patio, walkway,
deck, courtyard, entryway or retaining wall. Formed from molten lava, stone
is heavy, hard, extremely durable and handsomely colored. Splitting easily
along their sediment lines, they make ideal paving stones. Three styles
of stone are used for paving: cut stone, flagstone and cobblestone. These
do not identify a type of stone, rather its shape. Cut stone refers to machine-cut
materials, such as slate. Flagstones
are flat, thin and irregularly shaped. Cobblestones are smaller and roughly
rounded.
Concrete
is a simple, versatile, and economical way to improve the appearance of
your hardscape. Simple renovation techniques hold the key to turning your
unimaginative concrete slab into a more traditional design by applying a
color, pattern or textured finish. Forms of concrete include slab concrete,
pattern concrete, Sundeck,
and interlocking concrete pavers.
Brick is made from clay. Available
in over 10,000 combinations, it is the most adaptable and popular paving
material for driveways, patios, pool decks, retaining walls, walkways, and
border material.
